So I arrived in Olympia in the evening of Wednesday, May 17th and immediately went to take a shower and then proceeded to eat all of the food!!!! I spent my time in Olympia making new friends, hanging with family and exploring the surrounding area by both foot, bicycle, and once by car. It’s been a nice and relaxing time, allowing me to enjoy one last period of my life sleeping on a real bed regularly. I have thus far failed at finding a pickup soccer game here in Olympia, I am suffering from serious withdrawal from that sport. If only the people of Central and South America played that sport they could save me when I get there!
I did finally get to see Mount St. Helens with my aunt Patti. We did a little day hike and took some pictures before heading south into Oregon to check out some really pretty water falls we didn’t get to see because apparently it’s a popular spot, especially on a holiday weekend. But we did go to Portland and drink at a brewery, so mission accomplished.
I like to joke that my super power is healing quickly because my body has had so much practice at it. But apparently I have another, and that is bringing nice weather to the PNW. Every time I have visited I have brought with me the sun and fair weather and this trip is no exception. There have been requests for me to come back in February when they haven’t seen the sun for months. I may have to use my powers for good one of these years…
